4-Day Masai Mara Safari from Nairobi

After an early breakfast, your driver-guide collects you from your Nairobi hotel and drives you west to the Masai Mara, with a stop to view the Great Rift Valley. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours. After lunch at your camp or lodge, set out on an afternoon game drive across the plains, then return for dinner and an overnight stay.

Leave early for a full day in the reserve, when predators are most active. Look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and hippos along the Mara River. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush, and keep the afternoon for more game viewing. An optional visit to a Maasai village can be arranged.

Spend another morning and afternoon on game drives, exploring different areas of the reserve. Between July and October, you may be able to watch the wildebeest herds gather at the Mara River crossing points. An optional sunrise hot-air balloon flight can be arranged for an additional cost. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

After breakfast and a final morning game drive if time allows, begin the drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. Your driver-guide will drop you at your hotel or at the airport for your onward flight.
