Day 01 :

Arrival & Kampala City Tour

Arrival: Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your Afraeka Adventures guide/driver who will welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa.
Transfer & Tour: You will be transferred to your booked accommodation in Kampala. If you arrive early, you may opt for a tour of Kampala City, including visits to the Kasubi Tombs, Uganda Museum, or the local markets.
Accommodation: Mid-range hotel near Kampala City with beautiful views of Lake Victoria, cozy safari-style furnished rooms, satellite TV, and a balcony with lake views.
Meals: Dinner (if early arrival) and drinking water.

Day 02 :

Transfer to Jinja – Source of the Nile & White-Water Rafting

Morning: Depart very early for Jinja (approx. 3 hours East of Kampala). Along the way, you'll see Mabira Forest, Lugazi Sugar Plantations, and finally the source of the World's longest river, the Nile.
Activities: Enjoy white-water rafting on the Nile – the adrenaline capital of East Africa. Jinja also offers gorgeous natural settings with crumbling colonial architecture, a vibrant downtown, and leafy residential streets along the river.
Accommodation: 2 Friends Lodge or similar (In or near the Nile).

Day 03 :

The Beautiful Sipi Falls

Morning: Journey to the foothills of Mt. Elgon in the Kumi District, reaching the plateau 1,800m above sea level where the beautiful Sipi Falls are located.
Experience: This green area has a spectacular series of waterfalls (some nearly 100m high), surrounded by village walking trails and lush coffee-producing hills. The temperate climate is a welcome relief from the city hustle.
Activities: Relax, enjoy the fresh air, or opt for a coffee tour and community visits.
Accommodation: Sipi River Lodge or similar (In or near Sipi Falls).

Day 04 :

Karamoja – Nature Hike & Traditional Kraal Visit

Morning: Depart for Moroto in the Karamoja region, home to the Karamojong people – the most traditional tribe still living in Uganda.
Activities: Enjoy a scenic nature walk through the highest mountain of Karamoja, setting up camp at a traditional village of the So Tepeth mountain people. Later, visit a Kraal (Manyatta) – a village made of huts surrounded by fences of wood and thorns, built to protect cattle from rival tribes and wild animals.

Day 05 :

Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Morning: Continue north through the rugged Karamoja scenery towards Kidepo Valley National Park.
Afternoon: Arrive and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the wild Narus Valley, where herds of elephants and buffalos roam, and beautiful sights of lions and leopards sitting on various valley rocks can be spotted.

Day 06 :

Kidepo Game Drive & Walking Safari

Morning: Experience a walking safari with an armed ranger – a unique opportunity to explore the wilderness on foot and get up-close to wildlife including buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, warthog, zebra, and baboons. Learn about birds, insects, trees, and the medicinal use of plants.
Afternoon: Enjoy another game drive in this amazing park. Kidepo is ringed by mountains and rocky ridges, hosts 475 bird species and over 80 mammal species, including ostriches, zebras, bat-eared foxes, caracals, cheetahs, and greater and lesser kudus (many not found elsewhere in Uganda).
Fact: Kidepo Valley National Park ranks among Africa's finest wildernesses and is ranked #3 on CNN's list of the best national parks in Africa.

Day 07 :

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Morning: After a final game drive, depart Kidepo for Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes you through the rugged landscape of northern Uganda to Kitugum, then Gulu for lunch, and south to the northern gates of Uganda's best-known and biggest nature reserve.
Afternoon: Enjoy a slow game drive through the park en route to your lodge in the delta area.

Day 08 :

Game Drive & Murchison Falls Boat Cruise

Morning: After breakfast, embark on a game drive to spot as many animals as possible – elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelopes, and many tropical birds. A professional ranger with extensive knowledge joins you, and as this is a private drive, you can tailor it towards specific birdlife or wildlife.
Afternoon: Take a boat safari along the Victoria Nile to the base of the Murchison Falls (approx. 3 hours). You'll see hundreds of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, water birds, and other wildlife that the Nile attracts. If you like hiking, the boat can drop you near the waterfalls for a hike to the top (approx. 1-1.5 hours) with amazing views!

Day 09 :

Transfer to Kibale National Park

Morning: Depart for Kibale National Park, the primate capital of East Africa. Enjoy lunch at Fort Portal with views of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Afternoon: A guided nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary to see various bird species, butterflies, and primates.
Accommodation: Kibale Forest Camp or similar (Inside the park).

Day 10 :

Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

Morning: Track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale – the chimpanzees, sharing 98% of human genes. Uganda has approximately 5,000 chimpanzees left in the wild, and Kibale offers the best trekking experience with well-maintained trails and a diverse concentration of other primates (red colobus, red-tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, gray-cheeked mangabey, L'Hoest's monkey, and black-and-white colobus).
Afternoon: A guided walk through the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary (2-3 hours) featuring 8 primate species, over 200 bird species, and many reptiles. The highlight is catching a glimpse of the famous Great Blue Turaco.

Day 11 :

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning: Transfer to scenic Queen Elizabeth National Park, the second largest park in Uganda, located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains.
Afternoon: Enjoy your first game drive on the park's 200 kilometers of well-maintained game viewing tracks. With 5,000 hippos, 2,500 elephants, and over 10,000 buffalo, this park guarantees sightings of Africa's most iconic species. You may also see lions, leopards, civets, genets, and serval cats.

Day 12 :

Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Morning: Early morning game drive to see the African animal kingdom at its most active – elephants, buffalo, lion, waterbuck, leopard, Uganda kob, warthog, and more.
Afternoon: A boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, where you'll see more hippos than you can imagine, as well as buffalo, crocodile, bathing elephants, and a range of beautiful birds. This is undoubtedly one of the highlights of your tour.
Accommodation: The Bush Lodge.

Day 13 :

Kyambura Gorge & Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions

Morning: Hike in the Kyambura Gorge (the "Valley of Apes") – a lush tropical ecosystem drained by the River Kayambura, home to a family of 16 chimpanzees, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus, baboons, vervet monkeys, and many bird species.
Afternoon: Drive to the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth, famous for its tree-climbing lions. These lionesses spend hot afternoons snoozing in fig trees to get away from tsetse flies and enjoy a cool breeze – a truly photogenic sight.
Evening: Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Camp or similar.

Day 14 :

Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Culture

The Big Day: Prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi's gentle giants – the rare Mountain Gorilla. For most people, this is the absolute highlight of their tour.
Experience: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforest, dating back over 25,000 years. Half the world's population of gorillas live here, divided over nine habituated family groups. You'll also find 5 other primate species, 120 species of mammal, over 220 butterflies, and 360 bird species.
Optional: After trekking, you can visit the Batwa community to learn about their traditional forest-dwelling culture.

Day 15 :

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation

Morning: Journey to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale District – the deepest lake in Uganda, framed by lush, green-terraced hills reaching heights of 2,200–2,478m.
Activities: Enjoy an exciting boat ride on the lake with 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water. Optional activities include canoeing, swimming in the bilharzia-free lake, or visiting a nearby village to learn about local life.
Accommodation: Heritage Lodge (Buhalo Island) or similar.

Day 16 :

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Morning: After breakfast and a brief visit to Kabale town, journey to Lake Mburo National Park – a small park that should not be underestimated.
Highlights: This is the only place in southern Uganda to see zebras and the only park with impalas, slender mongoose, and giant bush rats. You can also look for hyenas, leopards, topis, elands, and Rothschild's giraffes.
Afternoon: Enroute lunch in Mbarara town and a visit to the Igongo Cultural Center.

Day 17 :

Nature Walk & Boat Cruise

Morning: Enjoy an early morning guided nature walk with an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority guide – a unique activity in Lake Mburo. Often, you'll encounter hyenas returning to their dens, hippos returning to the lake, and see zebras, giraffes, eland, topi, and other antelopes. Take the trail to the top of the hills for a great view of 9 of the regional lakes.
Afternoon: A boat ride on Lake Mburo gets you in touch with the lake's flora and fauna, including hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, and 3 kinds of otters. Birdlife is abundant – malachite kingfishers, African fish eagles, pelicans, herons, and even the rare shoebill stork.

Day 18 :

Exit Lake Mburo & Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe

Morning: Early morning nature walk, return for a healthy breakfast, then start the journey back to Kampala/Entebbe.
Experience: Cross the equator and experience being in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres at the same time – a great photo opportunity! Buy a few souvenirs in the craft shops and have a picnic lunch.
Afternoon: Arrive at Entebbe Airport for your flight back home.
